Good Reads SummaryThe princess of the school, Alice, is keeping a secret that could strip her of her high school fame. She is obsessed with the school’s outcast, Keith, but not just him – his music.
Since the inspiration for the song hit, Keith can’t get it out of his mind. The song must be played; it demands to be played. He knows the music is changing him, but he is unable to stop it.
Music has the ability to move you, enlighten you, and take you to places you have never dreamed of. And this particular piece? It has a life of its own and makes you forget who you really are.
As Keith and Alice learn of one another to the notes of that one perfect tune, they can overlook their roles and discover who they could be together. But they also discover someone else is listening and intends on keeping Keith to herself, possibly for an eternity
Tee's ReviewI wanted to read this book naturally because it dealt with music, but other than that I had no clue what this was about. As I began reading the book seemed your typical complementary Young Adult. Popular girl falls for geek goth music guy. I thought I saw where this book was going. I THOUGHT. But let me tell you a bit about the storyline to begin with.....
Alice was friends with Keith in grade school, then he moved away. By the time he moved back, they were in high school and there was no way they could ever be friends. She was popular, he was such an outcast, he didn't really fit into any groups at school. Her interest in him hadn't really waned tho and she followed him home one day and became a regular stalker under his window late at night listening to him play the guitar. Keith becomes involved in the school play in which Alice has the lead, this brings them together more. Alice begins to see Keith as a friend, especially after he helps her best friend Anna out of a sticky situation with her boyfriend. As you can guess, this friendship develops into something more and it does get sticky due to the social ladder in the high school. Typical contemporary right?
