I am going in a bit of a different direction today and promoting Record Shop Day, which is Saturday April 21 this year. This is a great little event that happens all around that promotes independent music shops, much like our beloved Indie Bookstores. So many bands participate in this releasing new singles that can only be found in these stores and not on their albums, releases of things from the past or new mixes of music..all on vinyl....
Two of my favorite record shops are participating in it so I will be hitting them both up early Saturday morning with a few friends..Here is what I am planning to buy..
Joey Ramone's Rock and Roll is the Answer. In May they are releasing a Posthumous album of unreleased music, this is the first single. I grew up listening to the Ramones, I cant tell you how happy this makes me!
The Hive's Go Right Ahead....
Neon Indian's Hex Girlfriend..
And then you all knew it would come right? The Arctic Monkey's single that they released especially for this day..RU Mine...
So get out of the house Saturday..visit your local record shop and discover the joy of vinyl and some new music! You can find a record shop near you Here...

I am so sad that this is not taking place any where near me but on the plus side, your musical choices are awesome this week although I am a bit curious as to what song popped up on your iPod to make you change your mind!
