Tuned in Tuesdays

Tuned in Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted over at Greads A place for us to showcase the music we love. Grab a song and join in the fun!

I am taking this back a bit today. Posting some of those songs that have guided me to the music taste I have now. The songs I listened to in high school and the vinyl my parents had laying about the house.

You know that one song that you can remember from your child hood? The scratchy record your parents had that was always being played? ( Ok some of you may not know the joys of scratched vinyl, but it is the best way to listen to music) Anyway growing up this record played alot in my house and I loved it. Probably one of the first songs I can remember other than the Beatles...

There was always a British invasion going on with music at our house. The Kinks were real popular and growing up this was one of my favorite songs and I will admit, if you ask me what my favorite song is of all times..This is the answer you will get..

Then you grow up a bit and you go in a different direction than your parents...well in my case, the apple didn't fall far from the tree, I stayed true to my roots..Possibly one of the biggest influences in my musical life was the Clash...Not one song of theirs did I dislike..I love it now when I see teenagers sporting Clash Tee Shirts..Their influence is still going on...

The Boomtown Rats were always one of my favorites, most of my friends were like ..WHO?..didn't matter to me...everyone has always questioned my musical tastes..

Lastly the men I longed for....( they have also always questioned my taste in men, what can I say LOL) Never Mind the Bullocks should be the one album in every ones record collection..no questions asked..its one of the best and changed the music scene.

..............................Oh Sid Vicious how I loved you....

Your choices are awesome! I wish I had a player to play vinyls. I've always wanted a huge collection of them.

I love this post (even though you know I love EVERY music post by you!) I heard Lola in a restaurant the other day and it so reminded me of you, Cricket, Mayday Parade, Lola and the Boy Next Door, and of course or love for that song!

Hello! Thanks for dropping by my blog!

I love British music too but my taste runs on a more mellow line, The Beatles, The Zombies, The Moody Blues, Herman's Hermits; etc, etc.
